john jacob jingleheimer mint

Dear Della,

As is our routine, this morning found us laying in bed together with Daddy and me trying to get every last second of sleep possible. You tried as well. At one point, I looked over and you were diligently scrunching your eyes closed.

That didn't last long as soon you began singing:

John Jacob Jingleheimer Mint
Dats ma name too
'ever you go out
People shout
John Jacob Jingleheimer Mint

Even in my stupor, I couldn't help but be impressed. You see, I didn't teach you that song. I have not sung it since, probably, 5th grade. You informed me that Dana, in the 2's room, sings that song. By the way, it is Schmidt (like Aunt K's maiden name), not Mint.

This came on the heals of Daddy going into your room this morning after you called for him. You were on the floor laying under my sleeping bag. It turns out that you crawled out of your bed at some point and slept on the carpet. I am not sure at what time during the night it happened but it just reinforces the need to get you your very own feeping bag. I think I will get it this weekend.

All of these cute things happened in about 10 minutes time. No wonder I end up being paralyzed and don't write you as often as I would like. You are constantly doing note worthy items that I usually forget about when I actually take the time to document. Plus, there are so many that I feel overwhelmed by the task. Please don't take this personally as my lack of documentation or motivation has NO correlation with how adorable, fun and cute I think you are or how much I love you!

This morning on the way to school I told you that I loved you. You replied, "I wub you too!". It doesn't get any better than that, my dear daughter.

I love you,

Mama
