sweetness

Dear Della,

On the way to school today, you were talking to Woo Woo who you have been taking to school to sleep with in place of Bobby.

You were saying, "I know, Woo Woo, I know", in a soft voice over and over. And you added, "Nigh Night". Dada and I say "I know" to you after you have been hurt. It was very sweet to see your empathy and you care for your animals.

I love you,

Mama

"paint ma toes wed"

Dear Della,

This is what I heard from you this morning as you stood on the toilet seat and pointed to the cupboard:
Paint ma toes wed!

So we did. I don't have a red polish so used pink (Hoodoo Voodoo to be precise, thanks Aunt K!) Here are some pictures. The one of the two of us is from the other day when we painted your toes white. And, yes, your legs and feet are still tan from Mexico. The pink polish sets off your dark skin nicely!
We went to Sephora today too and you played very gently with all the testers. You are a girl through and through!
I love you,
Mama

empathy

Dear Della,

As I was getting us ready this morning, you were busy playing with your baby. This is one that you have had for awhile but have only recently begun wanting her all the time. You have replaced Bobby with this baby as your choice item to take to school to sleep with. Last night, we even talked about names for her. Angie? No. Kiki? No. Lisa? Jen? Max? No. No. No. We finally settled on Mae but that seems to have trouble sticking too. You like to call her baby.

Anyway, after we got Mae dressed this morning (as I didn't like sending her to school with you naked), you put her blankets in a bag, put the bag over your arm and announced you were ready. We were walking on the steps to go outside and the baby fell on the stairs. "Sorry", you said (or more like (sowwy) then kissed her. That is more than I get and every morning I suffer from the pain of your little feet and knees from crawling in Mama's bed.

I love you,

Mama
